While firearms must be shipped to an FFL to complete the 4473 process (The form you fill out at the store) it is not required to complete your purchase. It does expedite the process if you know your FFL's data; however, many choose not to give this data to their patrons due to security issues. Please fill in the fields to the best of your ability and the ones that are incomplete type "later" in the box. If you are picking the product up locally at our Bethesda, OH location then please type "local" in the boxes.
In any case we will be in contact to secure this information.

Below is a quick synopsis of the specifications of the rifle. Scroll down for a more detailed overview.
The “Red” variant of the VSOrdnance M4gery is for those looking for that last little bit of bomb proofing.
Aesthetically speaking we wanted to go for a more retro look while simultaneously using it as a veil to mask as much modern functionality as possible. What looks like a basic AR when it first comes out of the case turns out to be a feature rich rifle that will do everything inside of 400yds if you do your part.
Barrel
The core capabilities of every rifle are determined by its barrel. For that purpose we selected a 16” Ballistic Advantage 1:7 twist 4150 CrMoV QPQ Corrosion Resistant barrel. This gives the end user a wide range of options in terms of ammunition selection to 77gn projectiles. The barrel is threaded ½ 28 and includes a standard A2 flash hider.
The Bolt
This is where the serious duty, Red version departs from the Blue. We have integrated the most advanced bolt available today, the HMB Bolt. In addition to precision grinding of all surfaces the bolt uses a shortened cam pin, deleting the hole through the bolt. This essentially increases the bulk of the bolt around the cam axis by a third making it nearly impossible to break through normal operation. By now you can probably guess what Blue and Red stand for.
The Front End
The M4GERY makes use of the cross pinned front sight tower that is characteristic of the AR-15 to ensure that the gas system is as infallible as possible. This is placed at the carbine gas length to ensure the system maintains a high enough input pressure to maintain functionality even when considerably fowled through heavy use. MLOK provides a balance of modularity and weight reduction not seen in standard 1913 rails. For that reason we selected the Midwest Industries two-piece lightweight handguard. This aluminum rail extends the T-marked picatinny rail up to the front sight tower while providing 3 x 3 MLOK attachment slots and five anti rotation QD socket locations for integration QD sling swivels. The rifle comes with one MLOK picatinny rail section.
The upper receiver is rounded out with a Midwest Industries fixed rear sight tower bolted to the rear of the 1913 rail. We wanted metal here, and it includes toolless adjustment of the dual aperture sight.
The Lower Half
Many will tell you that all lower receivers are created equal. Ours is not a drop forged lower receiver, rather it is a billet 7075-T6 Al feature-rich receiver. Specifically speaking we wanted to beef up a few areas. The trigger guard is integral to the receiver and includes sizing relief from heavy gloves. Likewise the magwell region is built up a bit to keep it from chipping. This also allowed for some subdued loading bevels to be added and the front of the receiver is serrated for hand placement should the handguard become too hot under sustained use.
Under the grip is an additional set screw that allows the end user to adjust receiver fitment as desired. The rear takedown detent and bolt release are both threaded and retained; should the end user decide to disassemble the either of these components, they won’t need a hammer and they won’t risk losing small components. The base plate is a forged dual sling plate for those of us who prefer a direct rear primary attachment over QD points.
VSO does not believe in arming governments or government agencies. As a result, instead of “restricting for military or law enforcement use” we restrict for “civilian or non government use only”
The trigger is of the enhanced milspec variety and should provide a consistent break under 5.5lbs
For furniture we went with a bit of a departure and went with Mission First Tactical’s non-grooved 15 degree Engage grip for squared up shooting. The stock is also Mission First’s but is their Extreme Duty Minimalist stock. This product was originally designed for heavier recoiling guns, but we have used it in this design because it provides a usable length of pull with the stock fully collapsed.
In closing the VSOrdnance M4gery Red is specifically designed to be a light-weight rifle capable of performance out of the box but also modular to adapt the needs of the user. It includes a life-time transferrable warranty that moves with the gun, not the owner.
All canceled, refunded, or returned orders are subject to a $20 restocking fee. Shipping costs will not be refunded if charged.
Solid rifle. Shoots very well. Balances well. Pretty light weight. Shot a sub 2" group with a red dot and no magnification. I am very happy with mine.
